New Delhi: Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) has been conferred with the prestigious BCC&I Social Leadership Award 2025 in the category ‘Healthcare & Empowerment, Holistic Development’, at the Fourth Edition of the CSR Conclave & Social Leadership Awards 2025, organised by The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I).
The award was presented to Shri Rajeev Shrivastava, General Manager (HR&A), GRSE, by Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, widely regarded as the Father of Indian CSR & Sustainability, at a ceremony held on 19 December 2025 at the Taj City Centre, Kolkata.
The recognition celebrates GRSE’s flagship Corporate Social Responsibility initiative “Akanksha – Aiming High”, which focuses on the holistic development of underprivileged children in the Khidderpore area of Kolkata. Implemented in partnership with CRY – Child Rights and You, the programme has delivered sustained and measurable impact across key areas including education, healthcare, nutrition, psychosocial wellbeing, life skills development, and community empowerment.
The BCC&I Social Leadership Awards honour organisations that demonstrate exemplary leadership in promoting inclusive growth and long-term social transformation. GRSE’s CSR framework reflects strong governance practices, complete statutory compliance, and a steadfast commitment to addressing deep-rooted social challenges in complex urban communities.
