NHPC-Supported Student from Ladakh Wins Second Prize at National Energy Conservation Day 2025
A Ladakh student supported by NHPC won second prize at the National Energy Conservation Day 2025 painting competition held in New Delhi.

New Delhi: A student from Ladakh, who participated in a state-level painting competition organised by NHPC, has won the Second Prize at the National Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation 2025.
Master Stanzin Chosyangs, a Class X student of Druk Padma Karpo School, Shey, Leh, was awarded the second prize under Category ‘B’ for his outstanding painting on energy conservation. The award included a cash prize of ₹50,000, a silver medal, and a laptop.
The award was presented by Smt. Droupadi Murmu, Hon’ble President of India, during the National Energy Conservation Day Awards Ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, on December 14, 2025.

NHPC’s Role in Energy Conservation Awareness
Congratulating the winners, Shri Bhupender Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, NHPC, said that NHPC takes pride in encouraging young talent that spreads awareness about energy conservation through creativity. He added that NHPC will continue to support national initiatives aimed at promoting responsible energy use.
Under the National Awareness Campaign on Energy Conservation, launched by the Ministry of Power and implemented by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), NHPC was entrusted with organising school and state-level painting competitions in Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Sikkim, Ladakh, and Madhya Pradesh for the year 2025.
NHPC successfully conducted these competitions across the assigned states and Union Territories, helping promote awareness about energy efficiency among school students.
