Ms. Karamjeet Kaur Appointed Director in Department of Defence Production
Government of India re-designates Ms. Karamjeet Kaur, IES (2012), from Deputy Secretary to Director in the Department of Defence Production, effective January 2026.

New Delhi: The Government of India has approved the re-designation of the post of Deputy Secretary, currently held by Ms. Karamjeet Kaur, IES (2012), as Director in the Department of Defence Production. The decision has been issued by the Department of Personnel and Training under the Ministry of Defence.
The re-designation is a personal measure applicable to Ms. Karamjeet Kaur and will be effective from January 1, 2026, or the date she assumes charge of the new post, whichever is later. The tenure for the re-designated position is set for a maximum period of five years, concluding on November 22, 2029, in accordance with the Central Staffing Scheme.
Ms. Karamjeet Kaur’s central deputation tenure commenced on November 22, 2024, marking the beginning of her service under the current assignment before the re-designation.
This appointment reflects the government’s continued emphasis on recognizing and empowering capable officers within key departments responsible for national defence production and strategic projects.
