Ms Nivedita Shukla Verma Given Additional Charge as Health Secretary Till December 28
The ACC has approved continuation of additional charge of Health Secretary to IAS officer Nivedita Shukla Verma till December 28, 2025 during leave of the incumbent.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the continuation of additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare to Ms Nivedita Shukla Verma, IAS (UP:1991).
According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Ms Verma will hold the additional charge beyond December 21, 2025 and up to December 28, 2025. She is currently serving as Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals.
The decision has been taken during the period of leave of Ms Punya Salila Srivastava, IAS (AGMUT:1993), who is the regular Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
The order was issued with the approval of the Competent Authority and communicated to senior constitutional offices and key government departments, including the Cabinet Secretariat, Prime Minister’s Office, President’s Secretariat, Vice President’s Secretariat, Parliament Secretariats, and all Union Ministries.
The notification was released by Ms Manisha Saxena, Secretary, Appointments Committee of the Cabinet and Establishment Officer, on December 18, 2025.
