New Delhi: The Government has approved the voluntarily retirement of Shri Praveen Vashista in accordance with Bihar government notification.
He is an Senior IPS officer of Bihar cadre of 1991-batch.
According to the official notification, pursuance of Home Department, Government of Bihar’s Notification No. 1/3{R01/10-03/2025 TJ0'3JT0 732 dated 15.01.2026 and Police-I Division, MHA’s OM No.24004/33/2015-IPS-II(Pt.) dated 15.01.2026, the Competent Authority is pleased to retire voluntarily Shri Praveen Vashista, IPS(BH:91), Special Secretary (Internal Security), MHA from Indian Police Service with immediate effect.
In October 2025, he has been named as the new Special Secretary (Internal Security) in the Ministry of Home Affairs, according to an official order.
Vashista, a 1991-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Bihar cadre, has been Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs since 2024 till October this year.
