New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare for extension of entrustment of additional charge for the Post of Managing Director, National Horticulture Board (NHB) to Shri Priya Ranjan, IFoS (RJ:1998), Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare for a period of 09 months w.e.f. 23.09.2025 to 22.06.2026 or till appointment of a regular incumbent to the post or until further orders, whichever is the earlier.

 

Shri Ranjan is a senior officer of the Indian Forest Service (IFoS) of Rajasthan cadre (1998 batch) and is known for his significant roles in the Indian government, especially in agriculture, horticulture, and forestry, notably serving as Joint Secretary in the Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Dept and holding the additional charge as Managing Director (MD) of the National Horticulture Board (NHB) with recent extensions in 2024-2025.

He also has served at positions like DIG Forests and Director in the Department of Rural Development, focusing on cold chain development and horticulture standards.
