New Delhi, November 28, 2025:
The Government of India has appointed two senior officers from the Odisha Non-State Civil Services to the prestigious Indian Administrative Service (IAS) under the Select List of 2024, according to a notification issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).

Exercising the powers under the IAS (Recruitment) Rules, 1954, read with relevant regulations governing selection and probation, the President has approved the induction of the following officers into the IAS:

The officers have been allocated to the Odisha Cadre and will be on probation until further orders, as per Rule 3 of the IAS (Probation) Rules, 1954.

The vacancies filled through this notification pertain to the period 01 January 2024 to 31 December 2024, as determined by the Government of India in consultation with the Government of Odisha under Regulation 3 of the IAS (Appointment by Selection) Regulations, 1997.

Further Process Underway

DoPT has requested the Odisha Government to forward proposals for fixation of seniority and the year of allotment for both officers, in accordance with IAS Seniority Regulations.

Copies of the order have also been sent to:

  • Chief Secretary, Odisha

  • Accountant General, Odisha

  • Union Public Service Commission

  • EO & AS, Government of India

  • LBSNAA, Mussoorie

  • Other relevant internal departments of DoPT

The appointments mark an important career milestone for the selected officers, who will now undergo mandatory training and probationary procedures before assuming full responsibilities as IAS officers in the Odisha cadre.
