Bharat Wagons and Engineering Limited (BWEL) is a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Government of India. BWEL was formed on 4 December 1978, through the merger of two sick companies, Arthur Butler & Co and Britannia Engineering Company.
Headquartered in Patna, Bihar, BWEL has two manufacturing facilities at Muzaffarpur and Mokama, both of which are equipped with high speed railway lines and other important facilities. Engineering, petrol station roof and tank roof . In its heyday, BWEL was the largest manufacturer of railway wagons in India and contributed to the national rail transport.
