APSEZ to Launch Dedicated Empty Container Yard at Mundra Port to Boost Efficiency
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) will commence dedicated Empty Container Yard (ECY) operations with integrated warehousing at Mundra Port and SEZ.
Mundra is India’s largest container-handling port and accounts for nearly 35% of the country’s container trade. APSEZ holds a 45.5% share of India’s overall container market (FY26). Empty container volumes at Mundra are estimated at around 1.6 million TEUs annually.
The new dedicated yard will offer end-to-end services across the empty container lifecycle — storage, maintenance, inspection and seamless movement to exporters and Container Freight Stations (CFSs). It will be operated by APSEZ and/or partners, including CFS operators and shipping lines.

The initiative forms part of APSEZ’s Ambition 2031 roadmap, under which the company plans to add more than 6 million TEUs of container handling capacity over the next five years, with Mundra at the centre of this expansion.
The move aligns with the Government’s focus on efficient, technology-enabled logistics and ease of doing business.
