First Capesize Vessel Successfully Berths at Jindal Ports Western Dock-1

Mumbai: Jindal Ports has achieved a significant milestone with the successful berthing of MV Mineral Kwangyang at Western Dock-1.

This is the first Capesize vessel to berth at the facility, marking an important step forward for Jindal Ports and reinforcing Paradip’s growing role in India’s maritime infrastructure.

Vessel Details

MV Mineral Kwangyang measures 292 metres in length.
It has a draft of 16.5 metres and carried 152,702 metric tonnes of cargo.

The berthing demonstrates the scale that the Western Dock is being developed to handle.

Capacity and Infrastructure

The deep-sea terminal is designed for a capacity of up to 25 MTPA upon full commissioning.

It features advanced mechanised systems and 31 kilometres of dedicated railway connectivity.

These facilities will enable faster and more reliable cargo movement, strengthening industrial supply chains and India’s global trade connectivity.
