JSW Steel Production Up 3% in August, Despite Decline at Ohio Operation
Mumbai, September 5, 2026: JSW Steel reported consolidated crude steel production of 24.65 lakh tonnes in August 2026, up 3% year-on-year from 23.82 lakh tonnes in August 2025.
The growth was driven by the company’s Indian operations, where crude steel production increased 4% to 23.87 lakh tonnes from 22.95 lakh tonnes a year earlier. Capacity utilisation for Indian operations stood at 88% during the month.

Production from JSW Steel’s Indian operations rose to 23.87 lakh tonnes in August 2026, compared with 22.95 lakh tonnes in August 2025.
The company’s Indian operations recorded 88% capacity utilisation during the month.
Meanwhile, production at JSW Steel USA – Ohio declined 11% year-on-year to 0.78 lakh tonnes from 0.88 lakh tonnes.

August Output at a Glance
Despite the decline in Ohio production, higher output from Indian operations lifted JSW Steel’s consolidated crude steel production by 3% year-on-year in August.
The company said the figures for August 2025 have been adjusted for comparison following the transfer of the steel business undertaking of Bhushan Power and Steel Limited to JSW-JFE Steel Limited, a joint venture, in March 2026.
