L&T GeoStructure Secures Major Orders from JSW Steel, IWAI and Mumbai Port Authority

Mumbai: Larsen & Toubro Limited announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, L&T GeoStructure, has secured multiple significant orders across steel, inland waterways, and maritime infrastructure sectors in India.

The projects include the company’s largest-ever piling contract, ship repair facilities along National Waterway-1, and the construction of India’s first yacht marina at Mumbai Harbour.

 

Largest-Ever Piling Order from JSW Utkal Steel

L&T GeoStructure secured a major piling contract from JSW Utkal Steel Ltd for the 10 MTPA Integrated Steel Plant at Paradeep, Odisha.

The project involves:

  • Nine major infrastructure packages

  • Critical industrial structures including:

    • Blast Furnace

    • Hot Strip Mill

    • Steel Melting Shop

  • Approximately 30 lakh running metres of piling works

The execution timeline for the project is described as highly stringent, highlighting the scale and complexity of the assignment.

Orders from IWAI for Ship Repair Facilities

The business also secured two separate contracts from the Inland Waterways Authority of India for engineering, procurement, and construction of Ship Repair Facilities (SRFs) at:

  • Patna, Bihar

  • Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh

The facilities will include:

  • Advanced ship lift and transfer systems

  • 800-tonne boat hoist infrastructure

  • Vessel repair and maintenance capabilities

These projects are expected to strengthen inland water transport operations along National Waterway-1 on River Ganga.

 

India’s First Yacht Marina at Mumbai Harbour

In another strategic win, L&T GeoStructure secured a contract from the Mumbai Port Authority for the development of India’s first yacht marina at Mumbai Harbour.

The project scope includes:

  • Approach trestle

  • Piled breakwater

  • Service platforms

  • Concrete pontoons

  • Gangways for yacht operations

The marina project is expected to support maritime tourism growth and contribute to India’s expanding blue economy initiatives.

Order Classification

According to L&T’s internal order classification framework, the contracts fall under the “Significant” category, representing projects valued between ₹1,000 crore and ₹2,500 crore.
