L&T secures a major contract for the 8.4 km Red Line extension of the Riyadh Metro in Saudi Arabia.
Mumbai: Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a major international contract for its Heavy Civil Infrastructure business, strengthening its global footprint in mass rapid transit projects. The order has been awarded by the Royal Commission of Riyadh City for works related to the extension of the Riyadh Metro in Saudi Arabia.
The contract is part of an ultra-mega infrastructure project executed by a global consortium comprising Webuild S.p.A, L&T, Nesma & Partners Contracting, Alstom, and IDOM.
Scope of Work
The project involves the extension of the Red Line of the Riyadh Metro Network, one of the city’s key urban transport corridors. L&T’s scope includes the design and turnkey construction of an 8.4-kilometre metro line, featuring a mix of elevated and underground sections, along with five modern metro stations.
