NCC Limited has secured a major contract worth Rs 2,062.71 crore from the Public Works (Health and Education) Department of Assam for the expansion and modernisation of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati.

According to the company’s filing, the project will be executed over 42 months—with the first six months earmarked for demolition, planning, design and engineering—followed by 36 months of construction. After completion, NCC will also manage five years of operation and maintenance for the hospital’s civil and service facilities.

The company clarified that the awarding authority has no links with its promoters or promoter group, confirming that the contract does not fall under related-party transactions.

NCC is a diversified infrastructure company engaged in building construction, industrial works, housing, water and environmental projects, roads, bridges, mining, power transmission, irrigation and hydro-related projects.

 

On the financial front, the company recorded a 5.1 percent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 154.70 crore in Q2 FY26, compared to Rs 162.96 crore in Q2 FY25. Revenue from operations dropped 12.6 percent year-on-year to Rs 4,543.01 crore.
Despite this, NCC’s stock price inched up 0.61 percent to Rs 173.30 on the BSE.
