Mumbai, September 9, 2026: Tata Chemicals Limited has provided an update on the notice issued to its Kenyan subsidiary, Tata Chemicals Magadi Limited (TCML), by Kenya’s Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs.

The development follows a meeting on September 8, 2026, between the Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry and TCML executives. According to Tata Chemicals, the discussions were constructive and focused on the matters raised by the Ministry.

To support a comprehensive and timely resolution, both sides agreed to establish a high-level technical committee. The committee will be led by Kenya’s Principal Secretary for Mining and the Chief Executive Officer of TCML.

The committee will conduct a detailed technical review of the matters, prepare a report and submit it to the Cabinet Secretary for consideration and further direction.

The proposed framework is also intended to promote responsible mining, value addition, community development and mutually beneficial partnerships.

Tata Chemicals said the update is being provided in continuation of its earlier disclosure dated July 29, 2026, regarding the notice issued to TCML on July 28, 2026.
