Tata Steel has completed the sale of its entire stake in Jamshedpur Football and Sporting Private Limited to Churchill Brothers on 31 August 2026. JFSPL ceases to be a subsidiary of the Company.
Tata Steel Completes Sale of Jamshedpur Football Club; Exits JFSPL Ownership

Tata Steel Limited has completed the sale of its entire 100% shareholding in Jamshedpur Football and Sporting Private Limited (JFSPL) to Churchill Brothers Sports Club Private Limited on 31 August 2026.

With the completion of the transaction, JFSPL has ceased to be a subsidiary of Tata Steel.

The Company had earlier informed the stock exchanges on 14 August 2026 about the signing of the Share Purchase Agreement, which was subject to fulfilment of certain conditions, including necessary approvals from the All India Football Federation.

Continued Commitment to Sports

Tata Steel has clarified that it remains firmly committed to its long legacy of developing grassroots sports and strengthening India’s sporting ecosystem. The Company will continue to invest in:

  • Tata Football Academy (which has produced 150 national team players)

  • Tata Steel Foundation’s football training centres

  • Academies focused on archery, hockey, sport climbing and rowing

Tata Steel’s sporting initiatives span 19 disciplines and include institutions such as the Tata Archery Academy and Naval Tata Hockey Academy.
