TCS Appoints Madhav Uppuluri as General Counsel Effective April 1, 2026
Mumbai, February 28, 2026: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India’s leading IT services and consulting firm, has announced the appointment of Mr. Madhav Uppuluri as General Counsel, effective April 1, 2026. He will succeed Mr. Madhav Anchan, who will retire upon reaching superannuation at the close of business hours on March 31, 2026.
The company made the disclosure under Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. The announcement was submitted to both the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) and BSE Limited (BSE), where TCS is listed under Symbol: TCS and Scrip Code: 532540.
Leadership Transition in Legal Function
Mr. Madhav Uppuluri brings over 28 years of experience in the legal field. He began his career in litigation and later gained extensive exposure through roles in prominent law firms and in-house legal departments at organizations including GE and the CK Birla Group.
His areas of expertise include litigation, commercial law, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and regulatory compliance. Over the course of his career, he has handled complex domestic and international transactions, as well as significant civil, criminal, and writ litigations before various High Courts and the Supreme Court of India.
Prior to joining TCS, Mr. Uppuluri served as General Counsel at Tata Motors Limited.
Retirement of Madhav Anchan
Mr. Madhav Anchan will step down from his role as General Counsel at the end of March 31, 2026, following his superannuation. The company acknowledged the leadership transition as part of its regulatory filing and confirmed that there are no disclosures regarding relationships between directors in connection with this appointment.
Board Meeting Update
In accordance with NSE and BSE circulars dated July 14, 2023, TCS also informed the exchanges that its Board of Directors meeting was held on February 28, 2026, commencing at 10:30 a.m. and concluding at 6:10 p.m.
