CIL's premashraya for cancer patients in Kolkata
Kolkata: Premashraya, a home away from home, the 11-storied building funded by Coal India Ltd (CIL) as their CSR initiative is a residential facility for needy cancer patients & families has been conceived as a ‘home away from home for patients undergoing treatment at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata.
Premashraya provides accommodation to 200 patients & their relatives, approx. 300 no. undergoing long-term treatment at the TMC.
Over 91 thousand people comprising cancer patients, family members, and caretakers have availed of the facility to date.
Facilities of common dining areas, washrooms are present between the clusters of residential rooms where family members can sit, chat and bond between themselves. Every floor has a theme inspired by nature and is decorated with many wall hangings depicting the same.
