IIM Jammu enters its 10th Glorious Year of Academic Excellence & Innovation
IIM Jammu commenced its 10th Year Celebration at Jagti Campus with a grand inaugural ceremony graced by distinguished dignitaries, industry leaders, faculty, alumni, and students. The event highlighted a decade of excellence, innovation, and contribution to education and nation-building.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu commenced its 10th Year Celebration with a grand inaugural ceremony at its Jagti Campus on August 22, 2025. The event marked a decade of IIM Jammu’s inspiring journey as a premier institution of management education, research, and innovation in India. The occasion was graced by distinguished dignitaries, with Shri Shantmanu, IAS, Financial Commissioner, Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department, UT of J&K, delivering the inaugural address as Chief Guest. Shri Amitava Chatterjee, Managing Director and CEO of J&K Bank addressed the gathering as Guest of Honour. Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, graced the occasion in the presence of deans, faculty members, officers, staff, students, alumni, and other eminent dignitaries
The event commenced with the traditional Saraswati Vandana and lighting of the lamp, creating an atmosphere of purity and auspiciousness. A defining moment of the evening was the unveiling of IIM Jammu’s 10-Year Logo by Chief Guest Shri Shantmanu (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department, UT of J&K, in the presence of Guest of Honour Shri Amitava Chatterjee, MD & CEO, J&K Bank, and Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu. The unveiling of the 10th Year logo stood as a testament to IIM Jammu’s glorious journey so far and its aspiration to chart a path of innovation and transformation. The event also witnessed a welcome address by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, who reflected on the institute’s decade-long journey of excellence and its vision for the future. Adding further depth to the occasion, Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research, and Prof. Nitin Upadhyay, Dean, Academics, shared their insights on IIM Jammu’s academic and research initiatives that continue to strengthen its position as a premier management institution.
A key feature of the event was a high-level panel discussion on the theme “Role of Educational Institutions in the Growth and Development of UT of Jammu and Kashmir”, moderated by Chief Guest Shri Shantmanu, (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department, UT of J&K. The eminent panelists included Prof. K. S. Chandrasekar, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University Jammu; Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST Kashmir; Prof. Monika Gupta, Director NIFT Srinagar; Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU; Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu; Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty & Research, IIM Jammu; and Prof. Nitin Upadhyay, Dean Academics, IIM Jammu. The discussion emphasized collaborative efforts by premier institutions to foster innovation, talent development, and sustainable growth in the region. The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Shyam Narayan Lal, Chairperson, Anandam and Media & Publication Division, IIM Jammu. The inaugural ceremony concluded with the national anthem. The master of the Ceremony was Dr. Anuja Akhouri, Faculty, IIM Jammu.
The day featured insightful industry sessions with Shri Rajesh Kumar Garg, CFO, B. Barun, on “From Spreadsheets to Strategy” and Shri Ravish Malhotra, Associate Director, Ola, on “Strategic Procurement: Beyond Cost Savings to Business Value.” As part of the 10th Year Celebrations, Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean (Faculty & Research), IIM Jammu, led a reflective discussion on the institute’s journey and future aspirations. The day concluded with a valedictory ceremony and a vibrant cultural program by the students, showcasing the spirit of creativity and togetherness at IIM Jammu.
