Mumbai: Canara Bank (Symbol: CANBK, Scrip Code: 532483), a leading public sector bank, announced its audited standalone and consolidated financial results for the quarter and financial year ended March 31, 2026. The Board of Directors approved the results today and recommended a dividend of ₹4.20 per equity share.

The Board meeting commenced at 10:30 AM and concluded at 12:55 PM.

 

Financial Highlights (Standalone, FY 2025-26)

  • Net Profit: ₹19,187 crore (up 12.7% from ₹17,027 crore in FY 2024-25)

  • Profit Before Tax (PBT): ₹24,907 crore (up 10.1% YoY)

  • Total Income: ₹1,53,204 crore (up 7.7% YoY)

  • Earnings Per Share (Basic): ₹21.15 (vs. ₹18.77 in FY25)

  • Return on Assets (ROA): 1.10%

 

 

Q4 FY26 Standalone Performance

  • Net Profit: ₹4,506 crore

  • Profit Before Tax (PBT): ₹5,766 crore

Shareholder Reward: Dividend Declared

The Board of Directors has recommended a dividend of 210% (₹4.20 per equity share) of face value ₹2 each for the financial year 2025-26, subject to shareholders' approval at the ensuing Annual General Meeting.

  • Gross NPA Ratio: Improved to 1.84% (from 2.94% in Q4 FY25)

  • Net NPA Ratio: Improved to 0.43% (from 0.70% in Q4 FY25)

Auditor's Report – Unmodified Opinion

The Statutory Central Auditors issued an unmodified (clean) opinion on both standalone and consolidated financial results, confirming compliance with SEBI LODR Regulations.

Key Developments

1. Divestment in Subsidiaries

Canara Robeco Asset Management Company Ltd. and Canara HSBC Life Insurance Company Ltd. were listed on BSE and NSE in October 2025. The Bank's shareholding reduced from 51% to 38% and 36.50% respectively. The divestment resulted in a pre-tax profit of ₹1,930 crore on standalone basis.

2. RRB Amalgamation

Effective May 1, 2025, Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank and Karnataka Gramin Bank amalgamated into Karnataka Grameena Bank under "One State-One RRB". The Bank holds 35% equity of the newly formed entity.

3. Bond Issuance & Redemption

During FY26, the Bank issued Basel III AT-I Bonds of ₹3,500 crore and Tier II Bonds of ₹5,000 crore, while redeeming AT-I Bonds of ₹2,936 crore and Tier II Bonds of ₹4,150 crore.

4. New Labour Codes

The Government notified four Labour Codes effective November 21, 2025. Rules are yet to be notified. The Bank continues to comply with major provisions.
