NHAI pulls down political hoardings banners along National Highway but NMC found inactive
Nagpur: Following the directives of State Election Commission (SEC) to get rid of political hoardings, banners, posters etc in the poll-bound areas, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) got it swiftly. On the other hand, the NMC administration has been found lethargic and mocking at the SEC directives.
As soon as the Model Code of Conduct came into force for NMC elections, the city-based Divisional Office of NHAI formed a team and set for the task to remove hoardings, banners, posters having photos of political leaders along the National Highway.
The NHAI team pulled down the publicity stuff and made a 23-km stretch of National Highway (Betul Road) from Mankapur Square. The NHAI team used manpower and machinery to remove many hoardings, banners, and other publicity stuff having photos of political leaders. In the past two days, 200 “unwanted” hoardings, banners and placards were pulled down. The NHAI team, led by Rao, said that the “illegal” stuff has been kept at the godown of Patansaongi Camp.
