Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng met with a Malaysian delegation led by Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Secretary-General of the Democratic Action Party (DAP) and Malaysia’s Minister of Transport, in Beijing on Monday.

He Lifeng, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, stated that Chinese President Xi Jinping and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim have held two meetings since the beginning of the year, elevating China–Malaysia relations to a new level.

He expressed China’s willingness to work closely with Malaysia to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthen mutual learning among civilizations, and promote open and inclusive global development. He emphasized the shared objective of building a new phase of cooperation described as the “50 golden years” of China–Malaysia relations.

 

During the meeting, He Lifeng also briefed the Malaysian delegation on the guiding principles adopted at the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC.

In response, Anthony Loke stated that Malaysia is keen to strengthen inter-party exchanges with China and remains committed to promoting the continued development of bilateral relations between the two countries.
