New Delhi: India and Jordan strengthened their bilateral partnership with the signing of multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements during the official visit of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to Jordan.

The agreements reflect a shared commitment to deepen cooperation across strategic sectors including renewable energy, water resource management, cultural exchange, and digital transformation.

Among the major outcomes was an MoU on Technical Cooperation in the field of New and Renewable Energy, aimed at promoting sustainable energy solutions. Another important agreement focused on Water Resources Management and Development, a critical area for Jordan.

Cultural ties were further reinforced through a Twinning Agreement between Petra and Ellora, symbolising collaboration between two globally renowned heritage sites. Additionally, both countries agreed to renew the Cultural Exchange Programme for the period 2025–2029, fostering people-to-people connections.

 

India and Jordan also signed a Letter of Intent on sharing successful digital solutions implemented at population scale, highlighting India’s growing role in global digital public infrastructure and governance solutions.

The visit marked a significant step forward in enhancing India–Jordan strategic cooperation, with a focus on sustainability, innovation, and cultural diplomacy.
