Xi Jinping Promotes Two Top PLA Commanders to the Rank of General
Chinese President Xi Jinping promotes Yang Zhibin and Han Shengyan to the rank of general at a Central Military Commission ceremony in Beijing.

Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) Xi Jinping on Monday promoted two senior military officers of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to the rank of general, the highest rank for officers in active service in China.
The officers promoted are Yang Zhibin, Commander of the PLA Eastern Theater Command, and Han Shengyan, Commander of the PLA Central Theater Command.
The promotion certificates were presented by Xi Jinping at a formal ceremony held in Beijing. The promotion orders, signed by Xi, were announced by Zhang Youxia, Vice Chairman of the CMC, while Zhang Shengmin, also Vice Chairman of the CMC, presided over the ceremony.
Xi Jinping congratulated the two officers on their promotion, recognising their service and leadership within the Chinese armed forces.
