BEML signs Quadripartite MoU to Develop Real-Time Automatic Cargo Evacuation System at Machilipatnam Port
Visakhapatnam, November 14, 2025: A significant Quadripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been formalised to advance a transformative logistics initiative aimed at enhancing cargo handling efficiency at Machilipatnam Port. The MoU, originally signed on November 09, 2025, was officially exchanged today during the Partnership Summit 2025 in Visakhapatnam.
The agreement brings together four key organisations:
BEML Ltd, Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board (APMB),
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC),
Umeandus Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. (UTIPL)
With this MoU, the partners will collaborate as a Port Alliance to conceptualise, design, and execute an innovative Real-Time Automatic Cargo Evacuation System, also known as the Enhanced Freight Transport System (e-FTS). APMB will serve as the client, while DMRC (Lead Member), BEML, and UTIPL will jointly function as execution partners for the development of the pilot project.
The proposed e-FTS solution aims to revolutionise cargo movement through automation, real-time monitoring, and increased operational efficiency—positioning Machilipatnam Port as a future-ready maritime logistics hub.
This strategic collaboration marks a major step towards modernising India’s port infrastructure and strengthening multimodal freight connectivity to support the country's growing economic ambitions.
