BHEL Expands Partnership with ADA for LCA & AMCA Defence Aircraft

New Delhi, February 20, 2026: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has strengthened its strategic collaboration with the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), the nodal agency under Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) for India’s indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) programme.

Building on its successful delivery of Compact Heat Exchangers for the LCA Tejas Mk1, Mk1A, and Mk2, BHEL has now been entrusted with critical new mandates for next-generation platforms.

Under the expanded partnership, ADA has awarded BHEL project sanction orders for:

  • Development of state-of-the-art Pump Modules for the Liquid Cooling System (LCS), a key component of the Environmental Control System (ECS), for both the LCA Mk2 and the 5th-Generation Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA).

  • Supply of Compact Heat Exchangers and Fuel Coolers specifically for the AMCA programme.
