New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Technology Innovation Hub for Autonomous Navigation (TiHAN) at IIT Hyderabad.
This partnership aims to leverage their respective expertise for implementing Autonomous Navigation solutions, which represent a safe, smart, and next-generation mobility option.
Goal and Scope of the Collaboration
The MoU is focused on enhancing last-mile connectivity in India:

Target Areas: The next-gen mobility solutions are intended for use in major metros and public transit systems in Tier II and Tier III cities.

TiHAN's Expertise: TiHAN is a dedicated hub set up by the Department of Science & Technology (DST) under the National Mission on Cyber Physical Systems. Its primary focus is the development of Autonomous Navigation and Data Acquisition Systems.

Autonomous Platforms: TiHAN's technology enables various autonomous platforms—including Ground vehicles, Robots, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles/Drones, or other autonomous platforms—to navigate and collect data without human intervention.
The MoU was formally signed by Sh. Shobhan Chaudhuri (Advisor / R&D, DMRC) and Dr. Santosh Reddy (Hub Executive Officer, TiHAN).
