EIL has signed an MoU with the Dangote Group for developing the second train of Africa’s largest refinery. The expansion will increase total capacity to 1.4 million barrels per day.

New Delhi: Engineers India Limited (EIL) has proudly announced the signing of a pivotal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will shape the future of energy infrastructure in Africa.
The agreement was formally executed between Ms. Vartika Shukla, EIL's respected Chairperson and Managing Director, and Mr. Aliko Dangote, the visionary Founder, President, and Chief Executive of the Dangote Group. This MoU focuses on developing the crucial second train of what is already recognized as Africa's largest refinery complex.
This collaboration is a significant milestone that not only reinforces the strong strategic partnership between the two entities but also serves as a profound testament to the trust placed in EIL’s specialized expertise in managing and executing large, complex, global energy projects.
Moving forward, EIL is committed to bringing its extensive global experience, wide-ranging multidisciplinary capabilities, and highly effective execution model to support the ambitious next phase of the Dangote Refinery's expansion.
The proposed development aims to scale the refinery’s capacity up to an incredible 1.4 million barrels per day. This expansion will firmly establish the complex as one of the world’s largest integrated refinery complexes operating from a single location. Furthermore, the project will be thoughtfully complemented by world-class petrochemical and fertilizer facilities, truly cementing its status as a vital energy and industrial hub of global relevance.
This joint effort beautifully underscores the continued strategic partnership and powerfully highlights India’s exceptional engineering capabilities on the world stage.
