HPCL Signs 10-Year LNG Supply Agreement with ADNOC Gas
New Delhi: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has signed a long-term Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (ALNG), a wholly owned subsidiary of ADNOC Gas. The agreement spans a period of 10 years, marking a major step in strengthening India’s natural gas supply framework.
As per the arrangement, LNG will be delivered to HPCL’s 5 Million Metric Tonne Per Annum (MMTPA) LNG storage and regasification terminal at Chhara in Gujarat. The gas will be utilised across HPCL’s refineries and City Gas Distribution (CGD) networks, while also catering to key industries such as fertilizers, power generation and petrochemicals.
The partnership is expected to help meet India’s rising demand for natural gas while supporting diversification of fuel sources. ALNG, one of the UAE’s leading integrated gas processing and marketing companies, will be the long-term LNG supplier under this strategic collaboration, further strengthening India–UAE energy cooperation.
HPCL highlighted that the agreement will contribute significantly to India’s energy security and aligns with the country’s broader objective of transitioning towards cleaner and more sustainable energy options. The company reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring consistent and dependable energy supplies for domestic and industrial consumption.
