New Delhi: NTPC Green Energy Limited on Thursday informed stock exchanges that its Board of Directors has approved the formation of a 50:50 Joint Venture Company (JVC) with GAIL (India) Limited. The new JVC will focus on developing and operating renewable energy projects in India.

The decision was taken during the Board meeting held on January 15, 2026, which commenced at 3:20 PM and concluded at 4:30 PM. The announcement has been made in accordance with Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

The incorporation of the JVC is subject to approvals from the Ministry of Power, DIPAM, and other applicable statutory authorities. Detailed disclosures related to the transaction, as required under the SEBI Master Circular dated November 11, 2024, will be shared in due course.

The partnership between NTPC Green Energy and GAIL is seen as a significant step towards advancing India’s renewable energy and decarbonization goals, strengthening the country’s sustainable energy infrastructure.
