New Delhi: Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) exchanges Government Orders with the Government of Andhra Pradesh for 1200 MWh BESS and 50 MW Hybrid Project
Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI), the foremost Navratna CPSU under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, continues to lead the nation’s renewable energy transition through strategic initiatives and large-scale project development.
Today, at the Andhra Pradesh Partnership Summit 2025 held in Visakhapatnam — organized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Government of Andhra Pradesh, in association with CII — SECI marked a significant milestone.
The summit was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including:
1. Hon’ble Vice President of India
2. Hon’ble Governor of Andhra Pradesh
3. Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh
4. Hon’ble Cabinet Ministers of Andhra Pradesh
5. Chief Secretary, Government of Andhra Pradesh
During the Energy Session of the Summit, the Government of Andhra Pradesh formally exchanged the Government Orders (GOs) for the Nandyala 1200 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Project and the 50 MW Hybrid Solar Project with SECI. The exchange took place in the august presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Both projects will be developed by SECI under the CAPEX Mode, wherein SECI will undertake the entire investment responsibility.
The Hon’ble Energy Minister of Andhra Pradesh ceremonially handed over the GO copies for both projects to SECI in the presence of the Chief Secretary, Government of Andhra Pradesh, and the Vice Chairman of NREDCAP.
SECI was represented by Shri Sivakumar Venkat Vepakomma and Shri Rohit Choubey, who had the privilege of participating in this distinguished occasion.
This achievement marks a proud moment for SECI and reinforces its commitment to accelerating renewable energy deployment in Andhra Pradesh. The projects signify another major step forward in strengthening the state’s clean energy infrastructure and advancing India’s sustainable energy goals.
