Government Nominates Neeraj Mittal to Petronet LNG Board

New Delhi (08.01.2026): In a key move signaling the Government of India’s continuing oversight of strategic energy enterprises, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoP&NG) on Wednesday nominated Shri Neeraj Mittal, IAS, as a director on the Board of Petronet LNG Limited.

Shri Mittal (DIN: 05216366), currently serving as Secretary, MoP&NG, will replace Shri Pankaj Jain, IAS (DIN: 00675922) on the board of the Kochi- and Dahej-based LNG giant. The nomination is part of the Ministry’s routine executive oversight of central public sector undertakings and follows standard regulatory procedures under the Companies Act, 2013.

Industry insiders note that Mittal’s induction is expected to strengthen the company’s governance framework and provide strategic guidance as Petronet LNG continues to expand its terminal operations and domestic gas distribution. The official details of Shri Mittal’s tenure and role on the board will be released after formal appointment in line with statutory provisions.
