Gujarat Gas Appoints B. N. Patel as Executive Director

New Delhi:  Gujarat Gas Limited (GGL), a Government of Gujarat undertaking and a GSPC Group company, has appointed Shri B. N. Patel, GAS (Selection Scale) as its Executive Director, effective January 21, 2026.

The appointment was approved by the Board of Directors in line with a notification issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), Government of Gujarat on January 19, 2026. Shri Patel will serve in a senior management role and will not be a member of the Board.

 

Background and Professional Experience

Shri B. N. Patel is a Mechanical Engineering graduate and also holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree. He joined the Government of Gujarat in 2005 after being selected through the State Public Service Commission, beginning his career as a Mamlatdar.

He was promoted to the Gujarat Administrative Service (GAS) cadre in 2012 and has since held several key administrative and leadership roles across departments, including:

  • Deputy District Development Officer (Panchayat Department)

  • Deputy Collector (Revenue Department)

  • Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM)

  • Director, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA)

  • Food Controller, Civil Supplies Department

  • Additional District Magistrate (ADM)

  • Residential Additional Collector

He has also served at Raj Bhavan, Gujarat, worked as Deputy Municipal Commissioner, and functioned as Personal Secretary to the Hon’ble Minister for Health.

Wide Administrative Exposure

With postings across eight districts of Gujarat, Shri Patel brings extensive on-ground administrative experience, including handling election duties, disaster management, and inter-departmental coordination. He was promoted to Senior Scale in the GAS cadre in 2018.

Strategic Importance for Gujarat Gas

His appointment comes at a time when Gujarat Gas continues to expand its city gas distribution (CGD) network, strengthen operational governance, and support the state’s clean energy transition through wider adoption of PNG and CNG infrastructure.

 

Regulatory Disclosure

The company disclosed the appointment under Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, to both BSE and NSE.
