Krishna Kumar Singh Assumes Additional Charge as CMD of Steel Authority of India Limited

New Delhi, April 2, 2026: Shri Krishna Kumar Singh, Director (Personnel) at Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), has assumed the additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the company with effect from April 2, 2026.

With nearly four decades of extensive experience, Shri Singh has made significant contributions to SAIL’s growth across diverse domains including Operations, Human Resource Development (HRD), Vigilance, and Personnel & Administration (P&A).

He began his career in 1987 as a Management Trainee at Bhilai Steel Plant, where he worked for over a decade in the Blooming & Billet Mill before transitioning to the HRD function. Over the years, he has held several key leadership positions, including Executive Director (In-Charge) of Personnel & Administration. His appointment as Director (Personnel) in 2022 reflects his deep domain expertise and strong leadership capabilities.

In his current role, Shri Singh has led the transformation of SAIL’s human resources, introducing progressive employee welfare and development initiatives aimed at preparing the workforce for the future.

His leadership continues to strengthen SAIL’s people-centric growth approach, and in his additional role as CMD, he is expected to steer the organization towards greater excellence and innovation.
