MRPL Appoints ONGC Nominee Satyan Kumar as Director on Board Effective July 2

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) has appointed ONGC nominee Satyan Kumar as Director on its Board with effect from July 2, 2026. He brings over 36 years of experience across the oil and gas value chain.

New Delhi: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has announced the appointment of ONGC Nominee Director Satyan Kumar to its Board, effective July 2, 2026.

The appointment was disclosed by the company through a regulatory filing under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

Currently serving as Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs) at ONGC, Satyan Kumar brings more than 36 years of experience across the oil and gas value chain, covering areas such as upstream operations, engineering, project management, marketing, business development, petrochemicals, corporate strategy and renewable energy.

According to MRPL, he has played a significant role in shaping ONGC's long-term strategic roadmap, including expansion into petrochemicals, LNG and green energy initiatives.

During his career at ONGC, he has been associated with major projects including captive power plants, the Hazira–Dahej naphtha pipeline, and ONGC's first 15 MW utility-scale solar project.

Satyan Kumar currently provides strategic leadership for ONGC's corporate strategy, business development, joint venture operations, stakeholder engagement and emerging energy businesses.

He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Dayalbagh Educational Institution, Agra, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from MDI Gurgaon, and has completed advanced leadership training at ESCP-EAP, France.

MRPL further clarified that Satyan Kumar is not debarred from holding the office of Director by any order of SEBI or any other authority, and is eligible for appointment under the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013.
