New Delhi: The Government of India has approved the appointment of Shri Pawan Kumar Rai as Director (Project Planning) of the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), a key public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways.

According to an official order issued by the Railway Board, Shri Rai, who currently serves as General Manager (Civil) at Northern Coalfields Limited, will assume charge in the IDA pay scale of ₹1,80,000–3,40,000. His tenure will continue from the date of joining until his superannuation on November 30, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

 

Interim Charge Approved

The competent authority has also granted ex-post facto approval for the extension of additional charge of Director (Project Planning) held by Shri Praveen Kumar, Managing Director of DFCCIL, for a period of three months from December 1, 2025. This arrangement remains valid until the regular incumbent assumes charge or until further instructions.

Strengthening Project Planning at DFCCIL

The appointment comes at a crucial time as DFCCIL continues to execute and expand India’s Dedicated Freight Corridor network, a flagship infrastructure initiative aimed at improving logistics efficiency, freight capacity, and economic competitiveness.

Shri Pawan Kumar Rai has been requested to join the post immediately, while Northern Coalfields Limited has been asked to relieve him at the earliest.
