PESB Picks Rajesh Kumar Chandel as SJVN Director (Projects)

New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Shri Rajesh Kumar Chandel for appointment to the post of Director (Projects), SJVN Limited, a Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Enterprise.

The recommendation was made during PESB Meeting No. 2/2026, which was held at 8:45 AM on Monday, January 19, 2026, in connection with the selection process for the post.

Shri Rajesh Kumar Chandel currently serves as Chief Executive Officer at SJVN Limited and was selected after a detailed interview process conducted by the PESB.

A total of twelve senior officers from leading public sector power utilities participated in the selection meeting. The candidates interviewed included senior executives from SJVN Limited, NHPC Limited, and Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), holding positions such as Executive Director, Chief General Manager, General Manager, and Chief Engineer across project execution, civil design, corporate planning, and contracts functions.

The final appointment of Shri Chandel as Director (Projects) will be subject to approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) and completion of other procedural formalities as per government guidelines.

SJVN Limited is a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Power, primarily engaged in hydro, thermal, and renewable energy development across India and abroad.
