New Delhi, January 28, 2026: The Public Enterprises Selection Board has recommended Shri Chandrasekharan Raghuram for appointment as Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Shipyard Limited, a Schedule B public sector undertaking.
The recommendation was made during PESB Meeting No 6 of 2026, held at 08:45 AM on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. The selection meeting was convened to fill the top executive position at Hindustan Shipyard Limited.
Shri Chandrasekharan Raghuram currently serves as Assistant Chief of Material in the Indian Navy. His selection comes after a detailed interview process involving senior executives from leading public sector enterprises and government organisations.
A total of eleven candidates were interviewed for the post. The shortlisted applicants included senior officials from Hindustan Shipyard Limited, NTPC Limited, Engineers India Limited, Steel Authority of India Limited, Cement Corporation of India Limited, Central Warehousing Corporation, THDC India Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, and the National Security Council Secretariat.
Among the candidates interviewed were Shri Kiran Easankarala, Director Finance and Commercial and CFO of Hindustan Shipyard Limited, Shri Pradipta Kumar Behera from NTPC Limited, Shri R S Prasad from Engineers India Limited, Shri Shailendra Kumar and Shri Niroj Kumar Sharma from SAIL, Shri Vivek Kumar from Cement Corporation of India Limited, Commander Ajay Zadoo from Central Warehousing Corporation, Shri Himangshu Chakrabarty from THDC India Limited, Shri Tarun Kumar Chopra from Indian Oil Corporation Limited, and Rear Admiral T V N Prasanna from the National Security Council Secretariat.
Following the interview process, PESB recommended Shri Chandrasekharan Raghuram as the most suitable candidate for the CMD position, citing overall suitability and leadership credentials as per standard selection norms.
The final appointment will be subject to further approvals as per government procedure.
