PESB Recommends Dr. Ashok Kumar Panda for the Post of Director (Finance) at Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL)

New Delhi, – The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Dr. Ashok Kumar Panda, currently serving as Executive Director (Finance & Accounts) at Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), for the position of Director (Finance) at SAIL. The recommendation was made during the PESB Meeting No. 13/2025, held on February 8, 2025, at 2:15 PM.

The selection process involved interviews with ten highly experienced candidates from various public sector enterprises. The candidates who were interviewed for the prestigious role included:

After a thorough evaluation of the candidates' expertise, leadership qualities, and vision for the role, the PESB found Dr. Ashok Kumar Panda to be the most suitable candidate for the position of Director (Finance) at SAIL. His extensive experience in financial management within SAIL and his deep understanding of the steel industry's financial dynamics were key factors in the decision.

Role of the Director (Finance) at SAIL

The Director (Finance) at SAIL is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial health of one of India's largest steel-producing companies. The position involves strategic financial planning, resource allocation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Next Steps

The PESB's recommendation will now be forwarded to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval. Once confirmed, Dr. Ashok Kumar Panda will take charge of the Director (Finance) role at SAIL, succeeding the current director, whose tenure is nearing completion.
