PESB Recommends Ghanshyam Das Gupta for Director (Mining) at Hindustan Copper
New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Shri Ghanshyam Das Gupta for the post of Director (Mining) at Hindustan Copper Limited, a Schedule A Central Public Sector Enterprise.
The recommendation was made during PESB Meeting No. 5/2026, held on January 23, 2026, at 3:45 PM. The selection was carried out after interviews of eligible candidates for the senior leadership position at Hindustan Copper Limited.
Shri Ghanshyam Das Gupta is currently serving as Executive Director and Unit Head at Hindustan Copper Limited. Based on the selection process, PESB found him suitable for appointment to the post of Director (Mining).
A total of eleven senior executives from public sector undertakings participated in the interview process. These included executives from Hindustan Copper Limited, NMDC Limited, NLC India Limited, and ICVL, reflecting a competitive selection process for the role.
The final appointment will be subject to approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet and completion of other statutory formalities, as per government norms.
Hindustan Copper Limited is India’s only vertically integrated copper producing PSU, playing a strategic role in the country’s mining and mineral development sector.
