Shri Anupam Misra Recommended as CMD of Hindustan Copper Limited

New Delhi, March 12, 2026: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Shri Anupam Misra for the post of Chairman‑cum‑Managing Director (CMD) of Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), a Schedule-A public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India. The recommendation followed PESB Meeting No. 20/2026, held at 8:45 AM today.

Shri Misra will succeed Shri Rajeev Ranjan, the current CMD of HCL, who is completing his tenure. This leadership change comes at a critical time as HCL continues to expand its copper production and operations across India.

The PESB evaluated five distinguished candidates for this key leadership role:

Shri Nagesh Shenoy – Executive Director, Hindustan Copper Limited
Shri Umesh Singh – Executive Director (Mining), HCL Corporate Centre
Shri Binod Kumar Gupta – Executive Director (Mining), HCL Corporate Office, Kolkata
Shri Rakesh Tumane – Director (Finance), Moil Limited
Shri Anupam Misra – Director (Marketing), The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT)

After detailed deliberations, Shri Misra emerged as the recommended candidate. The appointment is subject to approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

About Shri Anupam Misra

Shri Anupam Misra is an accomplished professional with over 27 years of experience in marketing, international trade, and industrial commodities. He currently serves as Director (Marketing) at FACT, a position he has held since July 14, 2020. His tenure has been extended by the government multiple times, most recently in February 2026, reflecting his strong leadership and strategic contributions.
