Vishwanath Suresh Appointed CMD of MOIL Limited

New Delhi, 07 January 2026: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has officially approved the appointment of Vishwanath Suresh as the Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of MOIL Limited, ending months of administrative speculation.

Suresh, a former top executive at SAIL and currently serving as Director (Commercial) at NMDC Limited, will head the Nagpur-based Schedule ‘A’ CPSE until his superannuation on 31 August 2030, or until further orders.

The ACC’s decision brings stability to MOIL’s leadership, quelling recent industry conjectures and ensuring continuity for the company’s strategic plans. Suresh was shortlisted on 4 October 2025 by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), India’s premier PSU head-hunting body, from a pool of high-profile candidates.

As the new CMD of India’s largest producer of manganese ore, Suresh is expected to lead MOIL’s ambitious expansion plans, strengthen domestic production, and support the growing needs of the Indian steel sector, leveraging his extensive experience in commercial operations at NMDC.
