ECL Organized Interactive Awareness Program SANGOSTHI
New Delhi: An Interactive Awareness Program “SANGOSTHI" was organized to mark the occasion of Earth Day 2020 on 22.04.2020 at ECL HQ where proper Social Distancing protocol was maintained to avoid spread of COVID-19.
The SANGOSTHI highlighted the efforts of ECL to promote Sustainable Mining by protecting the environment through integrated Project Planning & Design, adopting the concept of 10 R’s (Reduce, Recycle, Reuse, Redesign, Repurpose, Refurbish, Repair, Recover, Redeploy and Refuse).
On the occasion, Shri J P Gupta, D(T)P&P, ECL highlighted the Environment management and sustainable development to fight Climate Change. He informed that a Sustainable Development Committee has already been implementing sustainable development actions with the
concept of 10R's in our command Areas. He also pointed out various efforts made by ECL to fight against CoVID-19 and advised everyone to practice social distancing and
wear mask at work place.
Shri B. Veera Reddy, DT(OP),ECL, emphasized the concept of “Climate Neutrality” and informed that whatever resources we are utilizing from the nature or elsewhere for our consumption we must return it back in a way in which it compensates and rectifies the adverse impacts to the nature. We must strive to utilize renewable resources like solar, wind etc to compensate environmental loss.
The occasion was also attended by GM (P&P) Shri R N Som, GM(W&CSR) Shri M K Singh, HoD(Env&F.) Shri M Kumar and other through VC.
