Government of Arunachal Pradesh organised a one day seminar
Itanagar: With a view to provide impetus to development of large untapped hydropower potential of the state, Government of Arunachal Pradesh organised a one day Seminar on “Prosperity of Arunachal Pradesh through accelerated development of hydropower” on 11th Feb 2020 at Itanagar. The seminar was attended by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu, Dy. Chief Minister Shri Chowna Mein along with other Ministers, MLAs, Senior Officers of State and District administration and stakeholders comprising of Officers from Ministry of Power, Govt of India, CEA, Public & private developers and representatives from the project affected areas.
Shri Janardan Choudhary, Director (Technical), NHPC Limited presented a comprehensive perspective of NHPC on its hydropower development initiatives in the state. He elaborated upon the issues and challenges being faced in the endeavor and the probable solutions which could pave the way forward for accelerating the projects in pipeline. He also answered the queries by various stakeholders and asserted the commitment of NHPC in its sustained efforts in development of hydropower resources in Arunachal Pradesh.
