Haridwar Kumbh Mela 2021: No trains will stop at Haridwar railway station till April 14
In a bid of mass gathering in Kumbh Mela Indian Railways has decided to not stop trains at Haridwar railway station till April 14.
New Delhi: Haridwar Kumbh Mela which held every 12 years at Haridwar, India, possesses deep religious significance to Hindus as well as other spiritual seekers, and from April 12, 2021, the second shahi snan is taking place. Keeping the safety measures and in a bid of mass gathering during the Mela, Indian Railways has decided to not stop trains at Haridwar railway station till April 14.
However, the trains will stop at Jwalapur, Roorkee, and Laksar stations where devotees can deboard. From these stations, devotees will be ferried in shuttle buses.
The government has said that devotees will have to register on the Kumbh portal and it is compulsory to bring a negative RT-PCR test report. A negative RT-PCR test reports not older than 72 hours before arrival is required to gain entry into the town.
Also, there will a centralised room to assist the passenger, and the administration has installed CCTV at nearby railway stations to monitor the movement of passengers.
