The Aadhaar card details updation is available for free till March 14. According to the official portal of UIDAI, Based on the positive response from the residents, it is decided to extend the facility for 3 months i.e. from 15-12-2023 to 14-03-2024.

The facility for document updates shall continue to be free of cost through the myAadhaar portal. Details including name, address, and other related changes can be updated for free on UIDAI’s website. This can also be done physically at Common Services Centres [CSC]. The service is free of cost for online processes while at physical centres it will cost Rs 50 only.

The Aadhaar body has also been urging residents to upload Proof of Identity and Proof of Address [PoI/ PoA] documents to revalidate their demographic details in case an Aadhaar was issued 10 years back and has never been updated.

How to Update Aadhaar Card details online:

  1. Log into http://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ using the Aadhaar number.
  2. Select the ‘proceed to update address’ option.
  3. Enter a one-time password [OTP] sent to the registered mobile number.
  4. Click on ‘Document Update’ and existing details of the resident will be displayed.
  5. Verify details and click on the next hyperlink.
  6. Choose Proof of Identity and Proof of Address documents from the dropdown list.
  7. Upload address proof.

8. Select the ‘Submit’ button and upload documents.

9. The update request will be accepted after a 14-digit Update Request Number [URN] is generated.
