The Airport Authority of India has invited applications of tender bids for the construction of the terminal building needed for the free movement of passengers.

AAI invites tender bids from eligible contractors/bidders for composite work of modification of the Terminal Building for free movement of passengers at Silchar airport (Tender ID:2024_AAI_187695_1).

The Extension and Reconfiguration also includes Civil & Electrical Works. The tendering process is online through the CPP portal while the prospective Tenderers are advised to get themselves registered at the CPP portal respectively. The airport is currently controlled by the Indian Air Force and serves as a civil enclave airport. It is situated on the foothills of the Barail range. It was built by the British as RAF Station Kumbhirgram in 1944 and transferred to the Royal Indian Air Force (RIAF).
