NEW DELHI- The Kochi Refinery is bidding farewell to Shri Ajith Kumar K, the esteemed Executive Director Incharge, who retired after an illustrious career spanning 36 years with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). Throughout his tenure, Shri Ajith Kumar K has exhibited unwavering dedication and played a pivotal role in shaping the refinery's success.
During his remarkable journey, Shri Ajith Kumar K spearheaded numerous significant projects, leaving an indelible mark on the Kochi Refinery's landscape. Notably, he was instrumental in overseeing the transformative Integrated Refinery Expansion Project (IREP), which propelled the Kochi Refinery into the ranks of the largest public sector refineries.

Furthermore, under Shri Ajith Kumar K's guidance, Petroleum's Propylene Derivatives Petrochemical Project (PDPP) was successfully commissioned at Kochi Refinery.
This groundbreaking venture marked a significant milestone in India, as it became the nation's first unit for the production of Acrylic Acid and Acrylates, cementing the refinery's reputation for innovation and excellence.

Background-
A Mechanical Engineer from the Government College of Engineering, Thrissur, and an MBA from Indira Gandhi National Open University, Mr. Ajith Kumar K began his career at the erstwhile Cochin Refineries Ltd. in 1989. He has worked in the Inspection, Safety, Projects, and Maintenance departments of the Kochi Refinery. He also had a brief stint in Bharat Oman Refineries Ltd., Bina, Madhya Pradesh, and Kuwait National Petroleum Corporation, Kuwait.
Prior to taking over as CGM(KR) i/c, he was Chief General Manager (Projects) of Kochi Refinery and responsible for the implementation of the Integrated Refinery Expansion Project (IREP) & Motor Spirit Block Project (MSBP), at Kochi Refinery.
He belongs to Mangalath Family and hails from Vaikom in Kottayam, Kerala
