Bhubaneswar, March 5, 2026: Amit Shah, Union Home and Cooperation Minister, will dedicate the Sulphuric Acid Plant (SAP-III) of Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) to the nation during his visit to Odisha on March 6, 2026. The plant has been established at IFFCO’s facility in Paradip and is expected to strengthen the country’s fertiliser and chemical manufacturing ecosystem.

The visit will also see the launch and inauguration of several key initiatives in the cooperative and dairy sectors, aligning with the vision of “Sahkar se Samriddhi” championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Dedication of Sulphuric Acid Plant at Paradip

The Sulphuric Acid Plant (SAP-III) at the Paradip complex of Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited is aimed at strengthening fertiliser production infrastructure and improving efficiency in chemical processing operations. The facility is expected to support the supply chain for fertiliser manufacturing and contribute to India’s agricultural productivity.

Launch of Major Cooperative Initiatives in Bhubaneswar

Following the Paradip event, Amit Shah will attend a programme at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar, where multiple cooperative sector initiatives will be launched and several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed.

Key announcements and launches will include:

  • Release of the State Cooperative Policy

  • Signing of an MoU to establish a school under Tribhuvan Cooperative University

  • MoU for the revival of Badamba Sugar Industries

  • Dedication of 1,567 Common Service Centres operated by PACS and LAMPS

Digital Platforms and Infrastructure Initiatives

The programme will also introduce several digital and infrastructure-focused initiatives designed to strengthen cooperative institutions across the state. These include:

  • Virtual inauguration of need-based infrastructure for 141 PACS

  • Launch of the RCS Office Portal

  • Digital launch of the Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) portal of National Cooperative Organics Limited

  • Launch of “Coop Marque” developed by National Cooperative Exports Limited

  • Introduction of “Savidya”, an AI-enabled multilingual digital learning platform

Boost to Dairy Sector

Initiatives related to Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers' Federation Limited (OMFED) will also be unveiled to strengthen dairy development in the state. As part of these efforts:

  • Registration certificates will be distributed to two milk producer cooperative societies

  • Grants will be provided under the Chief Minister Kamdhenu Yojana

  • An MoU will be signed with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) to upgrade a Training and Demonstration Centre

Infrastructure Push Worth Over ₹3,275 Crore

During the event, a presentation will highlight projects from multiple departments. A large set of infrastructure works will also be launched, including:

  • Inauguration of 69 projects worth ₹1,159.03 crore

  • Foundation stone laying for 130 projects worth ₹2,116.06 crore

These initiatives collectively represent an investment of over ₹3,275 crore, aimed at boosting infrastructure, agriculture, cooperatives, and rural development in the state.

Strengthening the Cooperative Movement

The visit underscores the central government’s continued emphasis on strengthening the cooperative sector as a driver of rural prosperity. Through new infrastructure, digital platforms, and institutional partnerships, the initiatives aim to enhance farmer participation, expand dairy networks, and promote cooperative-led economic growth across the region.
