Ashok Leyland Appoints Alfred Nixon Mendez as Head of Product Development

New Delhi: Ashok Leyland Limited has announced a key leadership change in its product development function. The company informed stock exchanges that Mr. Alfred Nixon Mendez has been appointed as Head of Product Development, with effect from January 2, 2026.

As part of the restructuring, Dr. N. Saravanan, President & Chief Technology Officer, will now focus on shaping the company’s strategic product and technology roadmap and strengthening technology partnerships. Both Dr. Saravanan and Mr. Mendez will report directly to the Managing Director & CEO.

Mr. Mendez, who previously served as Chief Engineer – Global Trucks & Buses, brings over 32 years of experience with Ashok Leyland. He began his career as a Graduate Engineer Trainee and has played a significant role in developing competitive truck and bus platforms, along with driving digital transformation initiatives.

The change has been disclosed in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations and is aimed at reinforcing the company’s long-term product strategy and innovation leadership.
